At its annual Malaysia Career & Training Fair, Jobstreet by SEEK, Malaysia’s leading employment platform, announced the launch of its Top Talents Programme, named ‘Digital Expert and Leadership Accelerator’ (DELA), aimed at nurturing Malaysian youths to become future digital experts and leaders.

Through a joint initiative with Jobstreet by SEEK, Otti, the Ministry of Human Resources, and TalentCorp, this fully-sponsored programme offers a 6-week accelerator and 6-month industry immersion for graduates in Software Engineering, Data Science, or other tech-related fields. Across the span of the accelerator and industry immersion, they are empowered with technical knowledge and soft skills, and receive much-needed support for 6 working months upon securing a role within a Malaysian company.

The DELA programme will include modules on digital business acumen, project management strategies, effective development strategies, emotional agility, effective communication, and more, to prepare talent with industry knowledge and in-demand skills to apply in real-life work situations.

Vic Sithasanan, Managing Director, Jobstreet by SEEK, Malaysia said, “We are thrilled to partner with industry experts such as Otti and TalentCorp, bolstered by the invaluable support of the Ministry of Human Resources. Together, we will nurture Malaysian youths, building a workforce that is resilient, digitally forward, and industrious. With this programme, we aim to work with high-potential Malaysian graduates and match them with the right companies. My advice to jobseekers is to take advantage of available programmes such as ours, and to look into using resources that are available to stand out among employers. For example, Jobstreet by SEEK’s Career Hub is an online resource and skills enhancement tool to empower professionals. It offers different certifications such as Microsoft certifications and Excel certifications and as of February 2024, we have issued 362 skill-enhancing certifications through this platform.

This year’s career fair truly demonstrated that Jobstreet by SEEK is aligned with the goals of our Madani government, which is to enhance employability and equip the future workforce with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the job landscape. We are extremely grateful that YB Tuan Adam Adli was able to join us to share more on the importance of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as well as the importance of sustainability in everything we do.”

Aligned with Jobstreet by SEEK’s mission to connect jobseekers and organisations to foster productive working lives, its involvement at the Malaysia Career and Training Fair (MCTF) organised jointly with AIC Exhibitions highlights a shared commitment to providing access and opportunities to jobs for Malaysia’s local talent pool.

Datuk William Ng, Organising Chairman of MCTF, AIC Exhibitions said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Jobstreet by SEEK once again to host the Malaysia Career and Training Fair in 2024 for the 23rd year. This edition marks a special milestone for all of us, as it is the first-ever SDG-themed career fair. Understanding our larger role to encourage sustainability, prosperity and peace for the planet and communities, our fair hosted 110 participating companies who outlined their own SDG commitments and goals to jobseekers.

On behalf of AIC Exhibitions, we would like to thank all participating exhibitors, organisations, and all Malaysian talent for coming together to make MCTF a yearly success. We are also honoured to host YB Adam Adli, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, who has been actively advocating for the growth and development of our local talent.”

AIC Exhibitions has been the sole organiser of MCTF – enabling more than 200 exhibitors from employers, training providers, universities, and colleges to meet potential candidates. This year, MCTF brought together more than 26,000 jobseekers and talent and 110 participating exhibitors from across the nation.

Speaking at MCTF 2024, YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports said, “As the government, our primary focus is to empower our young people to unleash their true potential, embrace their talents, and continue building a life of meaningful learning. Career fairs like this aim to motivate them to actively seek out opportunities, build on their skills, and enhance their industry knowledge. We are committed to supporting them, through the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programmes, as we recognise that the youth will play a key role in the country’s future, and drive our nation forward towards becoming a leader in the digital economy”.
