The group has a number of ways for people to contribute during the fasting month
On 28th May 2019 His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Sultan of Johor had graced Kumpulan Johor Corporation (JCorp)’s zakat handover amounting to RM6Milion.
The business zakat was handed out to His Majesty by the Menteri Besar of Johor Datuk Dr Sahruddin Haji Jamal cum JCorp Chairman at Johor Corporation’s breaking fast event held at the Sultan Iskandar Mosque, Bandar Dato’ Onn Johor Bahru.
Also present was Permaisuri Johor Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.
According to MP Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, President & CEO of JCorp, the zakat is from 23 companies under JCorp Group including Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Johor Land Berhad, Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd and TPM Technopark Sdn Bhd among others.
“Zakat is indeed the pivot of the people, aside from it being the accelerator to initiatives on social development, hence Johor Corporation Group wishes to continuously contribute and increase the corporate zakat in the near future,” said Dato’ Kamaruzzaman.
The zakat payment is managed by Capaian Aspirasi Sdn Bhd, as elected by Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ).
Meanwhile, JCorp through its QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd has launched its 81st ‘Projek Penyayang KFC’. Free KFC fried chicken were distributed to over 150 welfare houses and NGOs nationwide, happening twice a year.
Over 1,000 guests at the event also witnessed the QR Donation launch, a donation concept through QR Code for Sultan Iskandar Mosque. People now could donate by scanning the QR Code through KA$H E-Wallet QR Donation application.
During the event, JCorp celebrated 30 orphans from Taman Cendana, Pasir Gudang and gifted around RM25,000 to 5 welfare houses and Madrasah in Johor.
