JBQR Launch as the Ultimate Digital Platform for Exploration, Rejuvenating Business, and Building Community

Finding out hidden gems in Johor Bahru is now a QR code away

JBQR, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to revolutionise tourism in Johor with a focus on rejuvenating businesses, fostering connections, and promoting local culture, has officially launched on 26 February 2024.

“JBQR is an application using QR Code scanning technology. Through the QR Code, tourists can upload information about each attraction location with navigation of all areas around Johor Bahru.” Raven Kumar Krishnasamy, Chairman of the Johor’s Unity, Heritage and Culture said.

“JBQR has started a new era of digital tourism in Malaysia. This innovative platform overcomes static information, offering an interactive and engaging experience. I am confident that JBQR will not only change the tourism landscape but also become a model for other states to emulate.” he added.

Raven officiated the launch of JBQR on behalf of Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor, witnessed by Dato’ HJ. Mohd. Noorazam Dato’ HJ. Osman, the Mayor of the Johor Bahru City Council, underscored the government’s support for this innovative initiative.

JBQR is a portal to hidden gems, a bridge between cultures, and a catalyst for economic growth. Through innovative features, community users can gain access to a myriad of events hosted by prominent organisations like Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (MBJB) and Tourism Johor, fostering meaningful connections and promoting local culture.

Within its first two months, JBQR has already garnered an impressive following, amassing 8,000 users eager to embark on interactive journeys through Johor Bahru’s diverse landscape. The platform currently boasts 13 strategically placed checkpoints across the city, each serving as a gateway to a wealth of information and engaging experiences.

JBQR is part of the M&N Group of Companies, which is involved in consultancy, digital tourism, and talent development.

“JBQR is not an ordinary digital tourism app but a trail that not only makes it easy for local/foreign tourists visiting Johor but also rejuvenates the business community, which will spur the economy, benefiting Johor and ultimately Malaysia. Tourism is a significant job creator, and this platform will build and enhance the tourism ecosystem, leading to favourable outcomes for our economy.,” said Sukhbir Singh Manhore Singh, CEO of JBQR.

“JBQR will ignite a spark that will transform the way people experience Johor,” said Muhammad Azhar, Chief Technology Officer of JBQR.

JBQR serves as a community platform for businesses and organisations to showcase their deals and has engaged with the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) to promote the Academy in Industry (AiI) alongside partnerships with esteemed organisations such as SUNWAY, DOUBLETREE, OYO, Bunga, and others, underscoring JBQR’s commitment to fostering collaboration and driving economic development.
