IKEA launches new catalogue in the hopes of inspiring people to rethink the bedroom with their ‘Make Home Count’ campaign
IKEA recently announced its yearlong campaign for 2020, ‘Make Home Count’, with a focus on the bedroom. Based on findings from the global Life at Home Survey, IKEA recognises the crucial role that bedroom plays at home – as a place for restoration, and the foundation of a healthy body and mind. This finding is the inspiration behind the campaign’s focus and is brought to life through the new IKEA Catalogue, aimed at helping the many people create a sanctuary in the bedroom for a better everyday life.
“We spend a third of our lives in our bedrooms, resting and recharging so that we can live out our everyday lives to our best ability. However, we now live in a world that sleeps less, with people sleeping an average of 6 hours a day. Through our campaign, we hope to inspire Malaysians to start prioritising sleep, with well-designed, affordable and sustainable bedroom solutions that will help turning their bedroom into a relaxing retreat,” said Gerard Jansen, Deputy Retail Director, IKEA Southeast Asia at the launch.
Findings from the IKEA Life at Home survey found that many people try to keep work and life in balance – but tend to neglect sleep. It also found that people commonly equate less sleep with being successful; that being too busy to get a full night sleep is just the price to pay. However, there is no faster track to a better everyday life than getting full hours of sleep to get work done.
Running from September to December 2019, the first focus area will highlight how changes in the bedroom are easy using different textiles, while being gentle on the wallet. The refreshed show rooms at IKEA stores provide customers new and varied inspiration that they can take and apply. New this year are IKEA product ‘recipes’ which are a set of products which are simple and affordable, allowing people to make a big difference in the bedroom for under RM320.
Customers can visit IKEA Damansara, IKEA Cheras, IKEA Tebrau, IKEA Batu Kawan or IKEA online store to get ideas and tips from the new room sets on display or start by browsing the new IKEA Catalogue. The new Catalogue will also be distributed to homes near IKEA Stores and is available online at IKEA.my/catalogue
