IKEA urges all customers that have purchased the bib MATVRÅ, blue/red 2pcs, to stop using it and to contact IKEA for remedy

IKEA takes product safety very seriously as their products is tested and complies with applicable standards and legislation. In spite of this IKEA has received reports that the button on the MATVRÅ bib can come off and therefore, presents a choking hazard.
No known incidents have been reported in Malaysia.
IKEA urges all customers to return the product to IKEA stores for a full refund or a similar product. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
“It has come to our attention that there is a risk for the button to come off if the child pulls at it,” says Emelie Knoester, Business Area Manager at IKEA of Sweden. “The safety of customers is a top priority for IKEA, which is why we choose to recall the children’s bib MATVRÅ blue/red 2pcs, as a precautionary measure. The bibs with the same name, MATVRÅ, fruit/vegetables pattern, green/yellow, are safe to use due to different material and design,” added Knoester.
The children’s bib MATVRÅ can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund or a replacement product. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. For more information, please contact the IKEA Customer Contact Centre at 03-7952 7575.
