IIB Focuses on Content in its Investment Strategies

Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) had organised an “up-close” session with CEO, Datuk Ir. Khairil Anwar Ahmad at Racing Underdog go-kart centre in Medini, Iskandar Puteri. The state and federal government-owned incorporation complements the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), promoting and facilitating the developments. Focusing on the driving economic growth in the Iskandar Malaysia region, the strategic developer is shifting its efforts to fill in gaps in the ecosystem to build an inclusive and sustainable metropolis.

Universal Healthcare, IP Innovation District, Tech-Farming, and Renewable Energy are key industries IIB is currently embarking on to improve stakeholder coordination and alignment as well as a balanced supply and demand factors. 

Content creation was the keyword, as Datuk Ir. Khairil shared a gist of the master planned Smart and Green Iskandar Puteri.

Its property development and investments to-date include Sunway Big Box, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, Puteri Harbour and EduCity, each with its own attraction and personality, reeling in visitors from all walks of life which has defined the Iskandar Puteri’s landscape. 

The Iskandar Puteri municipality (MBIP) has also scheduled to move its office to Medini, which will improve human traffic and the economy. COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn meant having to find new supply chain opportunities, producing a focused and clear long-term plan for Iskandar Puteri’s future success.

For more than ten years since its incorporation in 2006, IIB has been building hardware and infrastructure. Moving forward, IIB has a recovery strategy for Iskandar Puteri by focusing on bringing in content that will create more high-income jobs, enhance commercial vibrancy and have placemaking initiatives. This value-creation socio-development will therefore create a more sustainable future for the nation.
