Five years after it first opened, the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast (HRHDC) has reached new heights thanks to its unrelenting dedication to sustainability as well as its great reputation for excellent entertainment and hospitality.
The renowned resort has not only reached important milestones but also effectively navigated through difficulties and challenging times. The pandemic struck the world just over a year and a half after the grand opening, putting the devoted team’s resiliency, tenacity, and labour of love to the test. Despite facing challenges, the resort survived and thrived thanks to their unwavering dedication to giving visitors a safe and memorable experience. A further sign of the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast’s dedication to its team members was the absence of any personnel layoffs during the trying time.
With sustainability being such a large part of the resort’s mission, HRHDC has achieved significant goals such as reducing single-use plastic, composting waste, and partnering with local suppliers to deliver their produce in plastic-free packaging, among others. These commendable sustainability efforts supports the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, environment and anti-corruption, which has led them to become a member of the United Nations Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMB). By becoming a member, it further stems the resort’s commitment to align and drive its business with Sustainable Development Goals.
