After months of temporary closure, Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, XPLORASI-Petrosains Gift Shop and the PETRONAS Twin Towers Visit Operations (PETTVO) and Gift Shop in Suria KLCC will reopen its doors to the public on 26th December 2020.
The reopening of business operations is in line with the announcement made by the Government on 18th December 2020 to allow the operations of establishments under the Tourism and Arts Sector within the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) areas starting from 19th December 2020.
With the re-opening, Petrosains is committed to ensure the health and safety of its visitors. It will step up all precautionary measures and implement necessary safety guidelines, in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Government authorities.
Among the safety measures to ensure a safe visit environment are limiting its operation hours from 11.00am to 4.00pm on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30am to 5.30pm. It will also limit the visiting slots by capping it at 50% percent capacity and implement strict physical distancing measures. Admission tickets will only be sold at the Petrosains ticketing counters and issued on a first come first served basis. Whereas for PETTVO, tickets can be purchased online three days ahead of the intended visiting date or at the PETTVO ticketing counters on a first come first served basis.
Visitors will be required to complete a health declaration form, register using the MySejahtera app and undergo temperature screening before entering the premises. Visitors of all ages must wear a face mask at all times while in the centre and practice good personal hygiene such as washing hands with soap and water or use the hand sanitisers which are made available at strategic locations in the centre.
Physical exhibits and facilities in the centre will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. However, certain hands-on and interactive exhibits will be temporarily closed to avoid the risk of infection from touch. The number of visitors allowed in the learning rooms, Maker Studio, Mini Show areas as well as during Science Shows will also be limited in order to maintain physical distancing.
Meanwhile, PETTVO is excited to welcome back visitors to its premises and continue to provide them with a wonderful and memorable visit experience to the Skybridge and Observation Deck of the PETRONAS Twin Towers.
Since the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) was enforced on 14th October 2020, Petrosains has continuously increased its digital presence by providing more online offerings to help keep children and adults alike occupied, informed and mentally stimulated.
With safety and precautionary measures in place, Petrosains is excited to welcome back visitors to the centre and continue to engage the public in the informal learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics). Petrosains hopes that visitors will have a safe and enjoyable visit to its centre.
