Nature and ecosystem knowledge sharing programme becomes the theme of Forest City for the year 2021. This programme is organised through an active collaboration between Forest City and related field experts including Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and volunteers.

The 30-minute online programme covers 10 conservation education topics related to nature and the ecosystem around Forest City. The environmental education topics include information on the exploration of flora and fauna that live on the surface of the sea, in the sea and on land.

The first environment education session was executed on an online platform through collaboration with field experts

The description of each topic is presented by researchers, conservationists and environmental volunteers. The programme is organised on a monthly basis and aims to inculcate an environmental culture in the Forest City community as well as the public.

“This is yet another great move of Forest City in the green journey after the opening of eco museum in September 2020. Through this educational programme, information on environmental sustainability can be shared with the community, creating awareness on the unique ecosystem surrounding Forest City, such as the mangrove forest, seagrass meadow and coral reefs. All this must be maintained for the common good,” commented Ir. Syarul Izam Sarifudin, Forest City Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

“With this knowledge sharing, it is hoped that the audience will be more excited to know about the nature conservation efforts that we are implementing. After this, when the Movement Control Order is completed, they can visit the exhibition space of the eco museum in Forest City and see more than 100 species of interesting marine life samples,” he added.

In addition to sharing information online, information related to Forest City green activities can be viewed on the Forest City website at https://www.forestcitycgpv.com/.

The Forest City eco museum opened on 21st September 2020 as a continuous effort by Forest City towards green city and sustainable development. This open concept museum combines green ecological corridor areas, seagrass meadow, exhibition spaces and laboratory into one system, offering a different experience for visitors.
