With the aim to ensure an inclusive and equitable quality of education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for every child, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Tebrau initiated a Student Adoption Programme as one of the solutions.
Led by JCI Tebrau’s Advisor, Jayasangkar along with JCI President Teo Wei Heng and Vice President Individual Wilson Choo, they presented a cheque of RM3000 to SK Taman Pelangi Indah, received by Penolong Kanan Hal Ehwal Murid, Farihin.
According to Wei Heng, millions of children in the world have dropped out of school or missed out on quality education due for many reasons, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the poorer families could not afford education for their children and needed help from the community.
“We hope to contribute to reducing the financial burden of students so that they can stay focused on their studies and stay in principle with our project, “Never Compromise on Education,” he stressed.
