In collaboration with SKS Group, Charge+, a prominent EV charging company in Southeast Asia, has formally opened its first DC fast charging station in Johor Bahru at Capri by Fraser. The first of five key locations planned under this partnership, the new Turbo360 60kW DC charger represents a major turning point in Charge+’s growth across the Causeway.

Situated in the heart of the city, Capri by Fraser is a modern hotel residence located minutes from key attractions such as Johor Bahru City Square and the CIQ checkpoint. With its prime urban location, high Singaporean visitor traffic, and proximity to major commercial zones, Capri by Fraser offers an ideal charging destination for both Malaysian EV drivers and Singaporean travellers entering Johor.

Guests and members of the public can now enjoy convenient and dependable EV charging while staying at the hotel or before making their return trip to Singapore. Located just two minutes from the Johor Bahru Checkpoint, the hotel offers the nearest charging stop for cross-border EV travellers.

This launch marks the first phase of a larger expansion plan between Charge+ and the SKS Group, which will see four additional charging locations introduced across SKS-owned properties in Johor. These upcoming sites will further enhance fast-charging availability for the growing number of EV users, both local and Singaporeans.

“This installation reflects our commitment to provide a reputable charging infrastructure for Malaysian and Singaporean drivers,” said Goh Chee Kiong, Charge+ CEO “Capri by Fraser is a strategic and high-demand location, and we are excited to partner with SKS Group to expand access to fast charging across the border.”

Meera Raj, Head of SKS Hospitality said, “At SKS we believe that every touchpoint of a guest’s experience is an opportunity to do good – for people, for place, for planet. With this new partnership, we are proud to deepen our commitment to sustainable tourism and hospitality. We’re not just offering a destination to stay, meet or eat – we are creating a space where a guest travelling in an electric vehicle feels welcome, empowered and part of something bigger.”

“To our guests driving EVs, this installation is a welcome signal that you belong here, and this is a moment of pride and purpose across the SKS family. We are enhancing our ESG footprint not through grand gestures but through meaningful, everyday actions – actions that align with our belief in responsible tourism and community stewardship,” she added.

With the rising number of EVs in Malaysia and frequent cross-border travel from Singapore, the new DC fast charger is expected to significantly elevate charging convenience in Johor Bahru’s city centre.
