Care United Johor Bahru (CUJB) has announced the revival of its Back-to School Programme after a hiatus of seven years due to various factors including the pandemic.

According to CUJB, this initiative aims to support primary school children in their educational journey by equipping them with essential school supplies such as school bags, stationery sets, colour pencils and black socks.

Each Back to School aid package has a retail value of RM60. CUJB has identified 188 students in the Johor Bahru area who require school supplies through joint efforts with multiple community organisations and schools.

Distribution was mostly carried at the office of Care United Johor Bahru during March and April 2024.

On 6th March 2024, aid package was distributed to 20 students from SJKT Ladang Ulu Tiram, 20 students from Kampung Skudai Kiri/PPR Melana, 20 Students from Kempas Permatang and 20 more students from Larkin Perdana, making a total of 80 students.

On 15th March 2024, 20 students from Kampung Melayu Majidee received their aids by CUJB, and on the 1st of April 2024, 20 students from SJKC Kuo Kuang 1 received their aids.

For schools unable to arrange transport, CUJB had the Back To School Aid Package delivered directly to the school. On the 28th of March, 68 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Morni Pok got their aid sent by the NGO.

This event has been made possible thanks to the continued support of the donors. And it is hoped that corporate partners and media partners will continue to support the community work done by Care United Johor Bahru throughout the year.

According to CUJB, they are proud to be involved in various community building events and warmly welcomes contributions from corporate organisations and the public to ensure we’re able to continue our efforts.

As a tax-exempt NGO, all donations of RM51.00 and above are tax deductible. Care United Johor Bahru is a non-profit organisation which relies on public funds for its many projects, where a substantial sum of RM1+ million is required annually. A large portion of the funds raised are channelled to its Back-to-School Project, which aims to eliminate poverty by helping needy children get a good education.

Contributions from well-wishers, corporate organisations and members of the public are welcome. Care United Johor Bahru is proud to say that 100% of their donations are channelled to its projects, as they have no administration cost.

Donations and collaborations are welcome, and those wanting to assist, may give Care United Johor Bahru a call at 607-357 6899 or visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CareUnitedJB
