The World’s Biggest Book Sale has returned to Johor Bahru, bringing with it excitement, opportunity and inspiration. Marina Ibrahim, Johor State Assemblywoman for Skudai, officiated the launch of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Johor Bahru 2025 at the Paradigm Mall Convention Centre, marking the start of 12 days of unbeatable bargains and literary celebration.
Taking place from 28 August to 8 September 2025, the Sale features over one million books across every genre, from bestselling fiction and thought-provoking non-fiction to children’s favourites and timeless classics. With discounts of up to 95%, Big Bad Wolf Books continues its mission of making books both affordable and accessible, inspiring readers from all walks of life.
Speaking at the opening, Marina Ibrahim said: “Books are more than just pages and words — they are doors to imagination, knowledge, and opportunity. An event like Big Bad Wolf is not only about selling books, but about creating access, opening minds, and nurturing the habit of reading among people of all ages.”
She added “By bringing over one million quality books at up to 95% discount, this initiative supports education, creativity, and lifelong learning. Most importantly, it sends a strong message that knowledge should never be a luxury, but a right for all.”
Visitors to the Sale can also look forward to exclusive promotions, including Merdeka-themed instant rebates, privileges for students, educators and civil servants, as well as discounts for RHB and Maybank cardholders.
Community engagement is a key feature of the event, highlighted by the on-ground “Big Bad Stacker” contest, where shoppers compete to build the tallest book stacks for a chance to win prizes such as an iPad, Sony earbuds and Touch ’n Go gift cards.
