There has been widespread debate on the possible reasons for graduate unemployment in Malaysia. Two main reasons often cited have been the low proficiency in the English language and a lack of exposure to real-world situations.

To tackle this issue, Dato’ Haji Mohd Rashid Hasnon, Member of Parliament for Batu Pahat as well as the current Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, initiated an Employability Enhancement English Programme (EEEP) in his constituency offered by UTHM Holdings and facilitated by Elnet Talent Solutions.

UTHM Holdings Director Prof Dr. Wan Fauziah who is also the Asst VC (Financial Sustainability) UTHM said the programme aimed at preparing graduates to face the competitive working world and build their confidence and strengths.

“It goes a long way in supporting the development of talented and skilled work force.”
Rashid who launched the programme, encourage school leavers, unemployed individuals, and graduates from IKBN and TVET to enrol for the programme.
