More Malaysians are turning to Airbnb for their next vacation, with almost 60% of those surveyed saying they are likely to travel with Airbnb last year*. As we kickstart the new year, Airbnb is encouraging Malaysians to travel responsibly and treat their Hosts’ homes like their own.

In the feel-good video, talented actress, singer-songwriter and model Daiyan Trisha shares the importance of safe and considerate travel. The avid Airbnb traveler shows guests how to make the most of their Airbnb stay while taking note of local Host and house rules.

Daiyan shared, “Whether traveling for work or with family, I am always looking for the best places to stay that allow me to create wonderful memories with my loved ones. Airbnb is one of my favourite platforms to travel with both at home and overseas. Aside from the variety of unique and one-of-a-kind stays available, staying at an Airbnb is my favourite way to explore an area and immerse myself in local living. I’m thrilled to partner with Airbnb to help encourage fellow Malaysians to do our part, and make travel enjoyable for everyone.”

Mich Goh, Airbnb’s Head of Public Policy for Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong & Taiwan, said, “Airbnb is committed to supporting our community of Hosts in Malaysia, as well as the many travelers who are looking for unique, one-of-a-kind stays in the country. Together with Daiyan, we hope to encourage responsible guest behavior, towards ensuring that travel remains a rewarding and positive experience for Hosts, guests and the broader community.”

To support Hosts and guests around the world, Airbnb has a global Community Support team available 24/7. Every booking on Airbnb comes with AirCover for both Hosts and guests, included for free with every booking. AirCover for Hosts provides top-to-bottom protection for Hosts, while AirCover for guests provides support to guests for serious issues with a booking or during a stay.

In Malaysia, Airbnb will be rolling out a strata building toolkit for Hosts which includes Airbnb’s industry-first Malaysia Code of Conduct for STRA. Airbnb currently offers a Neighbourhood Support Line in Bahasa Melayu, which allows members of the community to raise urgent concerns about a nearby listing.
