Roasted Whole Lamb Leg Tandoori

The wonderful celebration of lights is around the corner and that means the heartiest holiday food is in season! Deepavali holidays are the time to enjoy more Indian food than we usually enjoyed daily.

Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel is putting out arrays of different Indian cuisines from the North and South at Cafe BLD this season and I get to have a little trip down the food aisle to satiate my holiday mood.

How to start a buffet – Lamb Murtabak and Poori

The aroma of the restaurant is my favourite during this time around and to get myself started, Poori and lamb murtabak, paired with sweet chutney and starchy potato bhaji. I know it sounds heavy for an appetiser but that is to prepare my digestion for the Roasted Whole Lamb Leg Tandoori with Lamb Dum Briyani Rice, which was also perfect to go with Kerala Baked Fish with Masala and Amritsari Prawn.

Spicy Amritsari Prawn to go with white and briyani rice

Checking out my vegetarian option, the plant-based offerings are perfectly drenched with all the spice goodness so flavourful it gets you going for more. While I’m at my spicy veggies party in my mouth, I had to wash it down with a hot cup of Masala chai before I get a handful of desserts on my table.

Endless choices of desserts are the reason why hitting the buffet for holidays is perfect, I love it when I could take both jalebi and gulab jamun into my plate and make it even merrier, a couple of ladoos to share with my sweet friends at the table that we share.

Gulab Jamun – the best dessert ever
