A Weekend at Ramada Meridin Johor Bahru

I was looking for a place to relax and unwind last weekend and was glad that Ramada Meridin Johor Bahru offered me the best. The property opened its doors last July in the vicinity of Iskandar Malaysia region, and is ideally located near LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort and Puteri Harbour, with easy access to local fresh seafood at “Kampung Sungai Melayu”.Ramada Meridin is about 30km away from Senai International Airport, making it easy to fly in or out of the Southern Peninsular of Malaysia.

As soon as I arrived, I was mesmerised by a huge roof that looks like a traditional Malay male headgear right in front of the hotel lobby. Under that huge roof, on the right side is the hotel’s Grand Ballroom that can fit up to 1000 people at one time with a combination of 3 halls, whereas on the left side is the meeting rooms and event space for rent. Right in the middle between both sides is a huge open space for guests to mingle prior to an event. It’s also definitely an “Instaworthy” spot for the hotel guests.

While going on a tour of the hotel rooms, I noticed that every room has drawings and sketches on the wall which is a specially added touch by an autistic child, Hanzhen Yap, who has earned a name in Johor Bahru. Rooms at Ramada Meridin Johor Bahru consists of Deluxe Standard with one queen bed, Classic Suite with a king bed and Premium Suite with one king bed and two single beds which comes with a lively living room and a kitchenette. Every room has an individual Wi-Fi connection and passwords with no restrictions to keep you stay connected.

As I strolled around the hotel, I’d say I love their outdoor space with the infinity pool that has fantastic views, and their restaurant that comes with two types of kitchen, Deli’s Kitchen specifically for local dishes and R’s Kitchen that serves international cuisine. All these are located on level 5 of the hotel, where it offers views of the surrounding city. Also located on the same floor are the Skyview Outdoor Gym, a Meditation Deck, an Outdoor Reflexology, Infinity Aqua Gym and a Kids’ Playroom with childcare facilities which is a definite plus for parents!

For the night birds, head to the Wyn Lounge located in front of the hotel lobby near the main elevator. The Lounge is open from 5pm till late night for hotel guests to have a drink and unwind while enjoying live music performance on stage.

After a goodnight’s sleep, the next morning before checking out, I had my breakfast at the Delish Restaurant. Serving traditional breakfast fare that’s local and authentic from the region and country, Delish Restaurant give guests a unique localised hotel dining experience. This hotel keeps a quality breakfast that can significantly increase the value of a hotel stay and guests’ overall satisfaction with their experience.
