Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, Johor Port Authority (JPA) and Ronald McDonald House Charities joint-organised a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at Paediatric Clinic and Ward, Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru.

Various activities were organised including the refurbishment of the children’s play area at the Paediatric Clinic by 40 PTP & LPJ volunteers, handover of new toys, books and educational based materials as well as walkabout and handover of goodies bag and Happy Meal Boxes to the children at the ward.

According to PTP, over 10,000 children a year receive care at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru, with many travelling from as far as Mersing, Kota Tinggi, and Kluang.

They added that the Paediatric Clinic functions to treat various illnesses but focuses mostly to treat children with Thalassemia, especially with regards to their bi-monthly blood transfusion treatment.

The CSR initiative is part of an effort by all parties involved to spread cheer among the warded children and to show utmost appreciation to the doctors and nurses for their high commitment in caring for the sick children.
