A Melting Pot of Cuisines at Citarasa Muhibah, Ramada Meridin by Wyndham

Fast breaking should be about the abundance of choice to replenish some nutrients lost during the day

Walking past the swimming pool at Ramada by Wyndham Meridin Johor Bahru (Ramada Meridin) at Level 5 to get to the Delish Restaurant is my favourite part on my way to breaking fast here. It is as refreshing as an appetiser to the eyes and mind before we start a rather hearty meal.

Whiffs of familiar hawker’s fritters are quick for me to catch on – you have choices of bananas, jackfruit, yams and of course, Durian and right next to it are fresh fruits. People reserve fruits as dessert but for me, breaking fast is a lot easier to digest when it is full of fibres. At least it won’t sabotage your digestion later on!

Rich in flavours; Nasi Briyani Manado goes well with every dish served

To start off my meal, I had to try their signature Roast Lamb with Percik sauce covered with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese! The roast was top notch and the cheese made it even brilliant to pair with my Nasi Briyani Manado. If lamb is not your thing, the fried Siakap Fish served with Kerabu Mangga would just fusion well.

Fried Siakap Fish with mango salad – a must-try!

If spicy and zesty is your thing, look no further than the Ekor Asam Pedas. A perfect choice to recover from the lack of spice on the day of fasting that I can vouch for it.

Next, do get some comforting hot, clear soup that you could top off with various ingredients from bones or meat to mix with your rice. As my friend accompanied me, she was happy with Sotong Kangkung that she could fix according to the ratio that she likes and she almost squealed at the sight of the huge selection at the Lok Lok station.

Be mesmerised at the choices they have at the Lok Lok station

Be spoiled for choices from the dessert station right from French pastries to traditional Kuih-Muih that you would find at your local bazaar-like Tako, Lepat, Talam, Kuih Buah Melaka and so on. Complete your dining session with an Iced-cold Cendol.

Freshly cut fruits
