KSW Group’s Aspirasi Mahsuri Property held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new lifestyle mall under the brand THE COMMUNE at Bandar Indahpura, Kulai which would occupy four acres of land space slated to be open at the end of the year 2023. The lifestyle mall is said to be the first of its brand in the country and is positioned to be the company’s first flagship project in the region with a tagline – Where the people meet.

Officiated by Haji Natazha Hariss, Yang Dipertua of Kulai Municipal Council, the ceremony also held a Digital Letter of Offer (LOO) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with its key tenants, naming Hwa Tai Supermarket Group as its anchor tenant and multi-purpose indoor sports centre by Sports Affair as well as Stellar International School as its strategic partner for education hub.

“THE COMMUNE is the place where the people meet, and it belongs to the community. Not just a mall, but your preferred meeting venue where the traditional retail experience will be transformed into a new social and lifestyle experience. It is set to redefine shoppers’ experience with its unique combination of offerings where shoppers can stay and play instead of grab and go,’” said David Kang, CEO of THE COMMUNE.

Natazha Hariss in his speech said “THE COMMUNE is opening at the right timing that we believe will further enhance the strategic position of Kulai being a growing domestic and international travel hub. This special recognition endorsed by the Tourism Johor as well as the Johor Tourism Interchange has further strengthened the ‘private – government collaboration’ which will surely benefit Kulai Tourism.“

“Kulai has also been positioned as a preferred location for international companies and we are proud to see the expansion of Microsoft Data Center, Foxconn’s assembly plant for Apple, Dyson and the recent expansion of Wiwynn Corporation – an innovative cloud IT infrastructure provider from Taiwan, setting up their APAC’s assembly plant here,” he added, saying the mall would create even more jobs for locals to sustain a livelihood as the nation is entering endemic-living phase.
