The state government’s ‘Meh Balik Kampus 2026′ initiative has helped approximately 3,000 undergraduates in Johor return to campus after the festive break.

According to Aznan Tamin, chairman of the State Education and Information Committee, the initiative was implemented in response to the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who remains concerned about the welfare and development of Johor youths.

He stated that 73 express buses were provided as a proactive measure to make undergraduates’ journeys more organised, comfortable, and safe.

“Five buses were flagged off last night for the Northern Zone at TMIYC, Iskandar Puteri, followed by 47 buses this morning for the Central and East Coast zones at the same location.

“In addition, 21 buses were deployed concurrently this morning in several districts, namely Segamat (Muar, Tangkak, and Segamat) and Batu Pahat (Kluang, Mersing, and Batu Pahat),” he said in a statement.

He stated that the phased and comprehensive implementation reflects the state government’s strong commitment to providing a more structured support system for undergraduate students.

Aznan stated that more than 500 Johor undergraduates studying in Borneo, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak, were also honoured at a gathering at Senai International Airport with their families.

He described the meaningful atmosphere as parents accompanied their children to the airport and bus terminals as a show of support and care.

The Meh Balik Kampus 2026 initiative received an allocation of RM1.4 million.

Meanwhile, he thanked Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi for his concern and unwavering support for the state’s undergraduate students.
