In honour of the holy month of fasting, the local community in and around the city centre received bubur lambuk from Persada Johor International Convention Centre.
As part of a communal initiative to aid those in need during the fasting month, Persada Johor personnel also gave away the customary porridge meal frequently given during Ramadan to the less fortunate.
The entire convention centre’s employees worked together to start the preparation and started cooking early in the morning and kept it going all day.
Persada Johor General Manager David Emir Bareng said he was pleased the distribution, which was at two separate locations – Jalan Trus and Jalan Abdullah Ibrahim, went smoothly as planned.
“The Persada team distributed 300 boxes of bubur lambuk, and it was heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces, especially the homeless around the city.
“We want to show them that they are not forgotten and are always in our thoughts, especially during this holy month,” said Bareng.
He said distribution of bubur lambuk has always been the convention centre’s tradition to reach out to the community beyond the regular clients.
