11 Days of Majestic Johor Festival Aims 500,000 Visitors

Set to be organised as an annual event, the festival is offering tourism packages to woo tourists to the state

The Johor Majestic Festival, an 11-day event organised by the Johor state government is set to become an annual event with its inauguration on the 8th of September 2022 at Puteri Harbour, Iskandar Puteri.

The festival will be reflected in the nation’s holiday and tourism calendar which will help attract both domestic and international tourists to the state.

It was announced after the launch of Tourism Gallery – a one-stop centre for the state’s tourism products at the JOTIC building by Johor State Exco for Tourism, Environment, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman, K Raven Kumar.

“Vehicles used by His Majesty the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar during the Johor Crown Journey (KMJ) will also be displayed during the festival,” he added.

The festival is expected to attract more than 500,000 visitors from within and outside the country with participants from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea.

“By organising the festival for a longer duration, more visitors will be able to attend this festival. Furthermore, the organisation of various activities can attract both domestic and international visitors,” he told the reporters during the press conference.

“This festival is one of the initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s tourism sector and adding value to the state of Johor. It will also increase the number of tourists to the state after it was previously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he concluded.
