Ihsan Johor, a non-government organisation and recipient of Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards (IMSHA) has organised a food bank to help feed 100 needy students and family in SMK Kangkar Pulai on 30th April at Surau Taman Desa Permai, Kangkar Pulai. Each recipient received basic essential food items, 3 packs of nasi ayam penyet and cane juice sponsored by Teboo.Juice and Impact Rank’s biodegradable Impact Rank.

As the celebration of Hari Raya is approaching, Ihsan Johor brought along with them clean and proper pre-loved clothes for the recipients. According to the NGO’s story in their Facebook post, teachers in SMK Kangkar Pulai went out of their way to help their students get new clothes when they could not afford them. They were said to be thankful for the extra contribution as it alleviates their concerns on clothes.

Killing two birds with one stone, Ihsan Johor, as one of the NGOs that has been appointed by National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) Malaysia; a COVID-19 eradication agent or ABC19 (Agen Basmi COVID-19) also held a vaccination registration programme for the surrounding communities. Mohamad Azhan Md Amir, Deputy Director General of NADMA from the Prime Minister Office was also present to lend a helping hand and observe the registration process.

A total of 12 people have registered on that day under Ihsan Johor’s initiative. As of early April, Ihsan Johor has registered more than 400 people in Kota Tinggi, Batu Pahat, Muar, Pontian and Johor Bahru. This helps reach out to the communities that are not aware of the vaccination process and further improves the nation’s herd immunity goal under National Immunisation Programme (NIP) against COVID-19.
