Quit Rent Due Date to be Extended – Johor Menteri Besar

In accordance with the total nationwide lockdown effective from 1st until 14th June, Johor state government has announced an extension on the Quit Rent’s due date payment.

Through a statement from Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Mohammad; the state government has agreed to extend the land tax payment period in 2021 with a rebate of 10% until 30th September 2021.

According to the statement, the late payment fines which is 20% with a minimum rate of RM10, would’ve have been imposed starting 1st June 2021 but now it will only be imposed from 1st October 2021. 

Hasni hopes that with the extension of this deadline, it will help provide sufficient time for landowners to fulfill their responsibilities to settle their respective land tax payments.

The statement ends with his call for commitment to all landowners to settle their land tax payments within the stipulated period.
