PGB Brings CNY Festive Cheer to the Old Folks

The Group organised a visit for the upcoming Chinese New Year and held a “gotong-royong” programme

In the spirit of festive celebrations, Paragon Globe Berhad (PGB) had organised a visit cum “gotong-royong” programme in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year at the Rumah Orang Tua Pekan Nenas.

The volunteer team, led by Leong Siew Foong, Executive Director of PGB, began the cleaning works in the morning, followed by decorating the old folks’ home with Chinese New Year decorations.

The Rumah Orang Tua Pekan Nenas located in Pekan Nenas is currently housing about nine senior citizens aged 68 to 84 years old who do not have any children, and are homeless.

The old folks were also treated to toss the traditional Yee Sang and a delectable buffet lunch, given ang pow, mandarin oranges, and a goodie bag containing daily necessities such as rice, Milo, cereal drink, coffee, and biscuits.

“This programme is part of PGB’s CSR initiative and in line with the Group’s objective of giving back to the community,” said Siew Foong adding that through this CSR programme, their employees can collectively contribute their time and effort to improving the quality of life of the senior citizens and spreading holiday cheer.

PGB is involved in the commercial and industrial sector with projects such as the Pekan Sentral and Pekan Nenas Industrial Park, which are located in Pekan Nenas, Johor.

Currently, the Group is developing industrial projects in Pekan Nenas Industrial Park, including building, and designing two units of single-storey detached factory with a double-storey office for Shimano Components (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, with a built-up area of 135,343 sq.ft and land area measuring approximately 4.95 acres.
