FedEx Johor Station Is Creating More Possibilities and Connectivity

New station in the state to connect over 125 cities through FedEx Asia Road Network

FedEx Express or simply known as FedEx is the world’s largest express transportation company and it has officially launched its new Johor Station at the heart of i-Park, Senai, with the presence of Minister of Transport, Tuan Loke Siew Fook and Vice President, Operations, South East Asia, FedEx Express, Mark Shorney.

The warehouse of 2,676sqm is an integrated warehouse and sorting facility that has doubled its size from its previous station complete with advanced telescopic conveyor belts and sorting systems, handling up to 1,100 packages per hour. A total of 90 team members will be facilitating international priority and economy shipments, high-value freight and dangerous goods.

Briefing on the new station’s operation

“We are excited to introduce our latest investment, which is a part of our continuing pledge to provide our customers with increased access to overseas markets. Business of all sizes including micro-SMEs, can benefit from this enhanced facility and further expand their cross-border footprint,” said S.C. Chong, Managing Director, Operations, FedEx Express Malaysia.

Tuan Loke Siew Fook on the other hand is pleased that road safety is one of FedEx’s core values, citing the company’s demonstration of its dedication through consistent education to ensure that FedEx’s drivers are compliant with safety rules and are using technology to keep drivers safe. Running from Singapore through Malaysia and even up to China, trailers are equipped with GPS (Global Positioning System) that provides real time monitoring and helpful in spotting any mishaps from the Regional Security Command Centre.

Packaging management demonstration

The station will be supported by 51 vehicles including vans and 40-footer trucks that are travelling through 43 routes in Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat and Kluang, Johor. Inclusive of Johor, FedEx now has 13 stations across Malaysia.
