‘Favourite’ marks the next chapter of Yung Raja’s artistic revolution – a step into a space that he’s been exploring since the start of his career. The feel-good track, released in time with the festive period, hopes to be a festival anthem as a kick-start into 2023.
While the signature sound of Yung Raja is clear, an amalgamation of Tanglish (Tamil and English) against hard-hitting beats that bring forth an undeniable dance vibe, the artist also dreams for the song to be more accessible to the masses through being played in clubs and festivals.
The lyrics of ‘Favourite’ were led by the beat, created by award-winning producer, MAGICPOTIONS. The collaborative session was completed within an 8-hour session. “I’ll never forget the first time I heard it – it’s rare moments like these when you hear a certain sound, which immediately triggers a flow of creativity instantaneously,” Yung Raja shared.
With the world opening up post-pandemic, there are only bigger and better things to come for the artist in 2023 – and ‘Favourite’ is just the start of it. “I hope ‘Favourite’ relates to every individual personally, in whichever way it reaches out to them,” said Yung Raja.
